I have expanded this website to include a wheel throwing demonstration I recorded last year. I hope to have more demos up in the near future. Click here to check it out!
Here is a sample of some of the clay work from last weekend, almost ready for the bisque firing.
Saturday was an Open House at the Studio. People visited and did handbuilding as well as wheel -throwing. Sunday was the first Clay in a Day workshop. Students spent the morning and afternoon learning how to throw pots on the wheel. It was a great day! ![]() Hanna Agar has created a wonderful set of photographs of me and my pottery. She posted them on facebook and the response was quite wonderful! You can check it out at http://thelaughingphotographer.tumblr.com/ I am excited for the classes to start in January. I have set up the website so that people can sign up on line, but I know that some people like to have a paper copy and send things in by mail. The brochure is ready and you can download it here.
I finished as much as I am going to do for now. I hope there are not too many typos! Classes start in January. All of the classes are up and can be signed up for via Paypal. In the meantime I am getting ready for the Pleasant Ridge Holiday Faire sale in two weeks. I'll put up a few photos of the new work sometime soon.
I am trying to get everything transferred to this new webpage. I may take a while to get the photos of my work--I'm trying to update everything. In the meantime, I am working on the new brochure and website information for Winter classes. I should have everything up and running sometime this week. Classes will start in January and I am also planning a Open House/Open Studio day for Saturday, January 5th. CHECK BACK!
![]() Tonight was the 6th annual Viroqua Empty Bowls. It was a wonderful event. Devorah Yahn did it again! There was a wonderful array of bowls from Devorah, Greg Cheesebro, Darrel Bowman and myself. There were also bowls from students at DeSoto High School. As always, my favorite part was watching people choose their bowls. It's such a delight to watch people pick up and handle each bowl they are considering until they finally feel the right one. |
