People keep asking if I made the really big bowl in my kitchen. It was made by Don Miller, one of my first pottery teachers. His bowl is beautiful and we have made many a batch of bread using it! I decided it's time for me to make a really big bowl myself. We'll see if any of them make it through the firing process.
The SALE scheduled for last Saturday had to be postponed due to the weather. It's on for tomorrow! Prices on pots with slight imperfections and pots that have been around too long are very low--$10 and under. There are also newer and more "perfect" pots that are 20% off the regular price. And the new display shelves that my most wonderful husband John created will be on display! Hope you can make it! The pots will be up for a few days, so if you can't make it on Saturday, give me a call and we can set up a time for you to visit.
I have been throwing enclosed forms that are then turned into jars when the top is cut off. I have also been changing the form while the pot is still wet. My neighbor Tom said they looked like they belong in the shire with the hobbits. After this one came out of the kiln I think I agree with him. The first summer workshop for kids ended on Friday. It was great fun to be in the studio and in the kitchen. The next workshop for kids is in August. I will post photos soon!
It's taken me a while, but here are some photos from the last Clay in a Day workshop. We had a great day and the pieces are still in process! I will post photos of the finished pieces once they come out of the kiln. Thanks to Desiree, Feliciana and Theresa for a wonderful day! The next workshop will be in September. I will be getting ready for some shows in July and August as well as having another summer class for kids.
